Homebuilding and Woodworking in Colonial America
by C. Keith Wilbur
This book is a history of the tools and methods used in Colonial America. It’s not a how-to book.
I find this book to be useful for general education. It’s difficult to get a comprehensive learning experience that covers building with hand tools. The downside is that someone with no exposure to woodworking will find no use for this book, and experts will find limited use.
This book wouldn’t help me build a barn, but it could reproduce a period accurate woodshop.
