Farm Truck and Trailer

The snow is gone, the the grass is growing and stuff is happening at the homestead.  The biggest news is that we have a new pickup and trailer.  OK, neither are new, but they’re new to us.

The pickup is a gracious gift from my mom-in-law.  It has exactly the things I’m looking for…  It’s four wheel drive, long-bed and it’s a 3/4 ton.

You might remember that I have an International Scout II…

I swapped it for a trailer.  I’m sad to see it go, but I haven’t been using it.  I think I’ve put a total of 200 miles on it since purchase.

Here’s the trailer…

That’s actually a pic before I bought the trailer.  It should hold at least 6 pigs ready for butcher.  It can be pulled with a goose-neck or a regular hitch.  The top also comes off if needed.

I really like the trailer.  There’s a lot of daylight getting through to the inside.  This should make it a more calm loading experience for pigs, etc.  All I need to do now is pick up 2 and 5/8ths ball and I should be ready to haul!
